Policies are put into effect in order to protect my clients, myself, and my business.
By scheduling with Emily McSherry, LMT for massage or bodywork services,
you agree to comply with these policies. I will do my best to accommodate special requests as long as they do not violate any of the stated policies. This assures fair treatment of all clients.
Lifted Massage and Wellness is a PERFUME FREE OFFICE!
Please do not use artificially scented products (perfume, cologne, body sprays, body lotion, etc) on the day of your appointment. If a client arrives for their appointment and it is discovered that they failed to follow this policy, they will be asked to reschedule. The payment for that day's booking will have to be paid in full before leaving.
Booking and Rescheduling Policy
Massage services are available by appointment only. I recommend that you schedule multiple massages
in advance so that you may enjoy the benefits of maintenance massage.
When using the online booking scheduler, you are submitting a request for a specific appointment. You will receive an automatic email from the booking platform. You will also receive either a confirmation email or options
for other times that day in an email by Emily.
If you must reschedule your appointment for any reason, please do so by giving 24 hours or more notice.

Same-day cancellations or no-shows will result in a fee equal to 100% of the amount of the booked services.
If you have not arrived within 15 minutes of your scheduled appointment you will be considered a no-show.
A client who does not show-up for an appointment must prepay for future appointments at the time of booking.
No-show and cancellation invoices must be paid by credit card via the website or by digital platforms such as Venmo
within 48 hours of missed appointment.
If you are sick or have an emergency, please call Emily to reschedule.
You must reschedule (without fee) if you are under the weather with any respiratory or communicable illness:
cold, flu, stomach bug, runny nose, cough, sore throat, etc.
Rescheduling is necessary if you are sick regardless of Covid-19 test result.
If someone living with you is sick,
please reschedule. There is no fee for cancelling when doing so due to illness.
If you have had a fever, please wait 48 hours after it breaks before coming in for a massage.
Please be aware that these policies also apply to appointment secured with a gift certificate.
Early/Late Arrivals
Please feel free to arrive 5-10 minutes before your scheduled appointment time so that you may relax or
fill out any necessary paperwork.
Arriving late will mean that your appointment length will be minimized by the amount of time you were tardy.
The client will still be responsible for the full service fees.
Gift Certificate Policy
Gift Certificates are available for any service and are valid for one year from
the date of purchase.
Gift certificates can be transferred to another person, however they are non-refundable. You must have the gift certificate on hand to redeem it. If you do not have it, you will be charged for the service received that day and then schedule a new appointment to redeem it. Gift certificates are redeemable for the service stated on the card or email. They can not be split into different services.
Payment
Payment in full for all services is due at the end of the appointment. You may also pay in advance using a digital platform such as Venmo or CashApp or via my website.
Emily accepts cash, all major credit cards, digital payments, and HSA/FSA cards.
Special Considerations
Please let Emily know if you are pregnant, have a heart condition, diabetes or have another medical condition.
If you have special needs, please let Emily know in advance of the massage appointment
so that accommodations may be made to the massage room, if any.
Patients must fill out and sign New Client paperwork.
Gua sha scraping and massage cupping can not ne performed on patients who are diabetic, have high blood pressure,
or who have a clotting disorder.
Prenatal massages before the 12th week of pregnancy requires a physician's written approval.
Parental consent is required for anyone under the age of 18 receiving massage therapy services.
Breast massage for oncology patients requires a letter from the oncologist or surgeon.
Entrance to Emily's office is handicap accessible, however, the restrooms are not. Sorry for the inconvenience.
The restrooms are all-gender.
Draping
Your body will always be draped with a sheet except for the area that
Emily is working on at any given point during the massage.
Abdominal massage my be done with a separate breast drape for your comfort.
The buttocks may be undraped to access the gluteus muscles as each leg is undraped.
If this is uncomfortable for you, please note this on your health history form or mention it before your massage.
The use of draping is not optional.
